Community Activities

Farmer's MarketSpeakers & Presentations

The library goes out into the community to share information about the services and resources we offer and to promote literacy and learning. Library staff attend special community events; speak to community groups; and visit schools to talk to students and educators. Programs are available on topics including:

  • Local history & genealogy (including digital collections of books, photos & community records)
  • eBooks (trends and OPL collections)
  • Children’s literacy
  • Summer reading programs for children & teens
  • Online library resources for homework, research, building job skills, genealogy and more
  • How-to resources for consumers, do-it-yourselfers and hobbyists

OPL also welcomes groups to the library for scheduled tours and presentations. For more information or to request a speaker, call 236-5205 (Reference & Adult Services) or 236-5208 (Children & Family Outreach).
