Getting Started

Start your search at home.  Begin with what you know--your present--and it will serve as your road map to your family's past.  Home resources may include photos, Bibles, funeral cards, baby books, newspaper clippings, school or military records and old letters. Here are more resources to help get you started.

Need more help than you can get with a phone call or a quick stop at the Service Desk? Request a one-on-one appointment with a staff member. You'll receive personalized attention during your 30-minute session. Call (920) 236-5205 or ask at the desk to reserve a time during business hours. 

Research Requests & Fees
If you would like to make a vital records request, please search the Oshkosh Vital Records Index for complete information.  Requests will be filled as time and staff/volunteer availability permits.  For mail requests, there is a 25 cents charge for each item requested plus $1.00 postage and handling charge per batch of up to five items.  There is no cost for email requests and a PDF will be sent via email. Please limit your number of requests to five at one time and submit additional requests after you have received all of your prior requests.
