Library Assistant II:

This is a part-time, 20-hour per week subprofessional position in the operation of a municipal library. 

TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED: (These examples do not list all the duties which may be assigned; any one position may not include all the duties listed.) 

Under the supervision of a Librarian, provide a wide variety of basic public, technical, clerical,and paraprofessional duties.  Among these duties are: Information and reference service, reader’s advisory, planning and presenting programs, conducting tours, assisting with outreach,
administrative support, participating in staff meetings, and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in a library or educational setting.
Some college education is favorable.

Library Page:

This is an entry level, part-time, 11-hour per week position. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED (These examples do not list all the duties which may be assigned; any one position may not include all the duties listed.) 

Shelves library materials.  Reads shelves.
Discharges bookdrops and in-house returns.
Handles incoming materials from other libraries.
Assists self-check customers.
Checks out and discharges reading collections for area nursing homes and day cares.
Prepares, repairs or reconditions library materials.
Assists with routine interlibrary loan procedures.
Performs other related work as assigned.

Homework Assistant Needed:

The Oshkosh Public Library is looking for a volunteer homework assistant to help students in grades 6 through 12 with homework assignments, which may include test preparation, book reports and research papers, mathematics and advanced mathematics, science, psychology and special projects.
