Not All Lost - Finding Records in the Republic of Ireland

Irish researchers have long been frustrated by a lack of easily available records due to historical events such as the Four Courts fire in 1922 and various famines. Deliberate destruction by the government (think early census records) complicates research. Learn how recent developments and a research trip to the Emerald Isle enriched the personal history of a local Irish immigrant family. We'll meet in the Lower Level meeting room.

Celebrate the Heart of Giving: the Wisconsin Volunteer Ombudsman Program

In the Oshkosh community, neighbors and friends are actively making a difference in the lives of older adults. These compassionate individuals volunteer in Assisted Living Communities, offering care and support. Volunteer Advocates, from varied backgrounds, undergo screening, training, and receive continuous supervision from the Volunteer Coordinator. Kim Verstegen, Assisted Living Project Coordinator at the Board on Aging and Long Term Care, will explain how you can join in and make a meaningful impact in this role. We'll meet in the Lower Level meeting room.

Adult DIY: Diamond Painting

Let's craft one-of-a-kind sparkling art at the library! This month we're applying tiny resin rhinestones to a pre-printed design to create a unique piece of art that you can take home. It's a relaxing and fun activity to do with friends. Call (920) 236-5205 to reserve your seat and supplies for these in-person, instructor-led workshops. These classes are free and do not require a library card to attend. We meet in the library's Lower Level.
