Irish researchers have long been frustrated by a lack of easily available records due to historical events such as the Four Courts fire in 1922 and various famines. Deliberate destruction by the government (think early census records) complicates research. Learn how recent developments and a research trip to the Emerald Isle enriched the personal history of a local Irish immigrant family. We'll meet in the Lower Level meeting room.

In the Oshkosh community, neighbors and friends are actively making a difference in the lives of older adults. These compassionate individuals volunteer in Assisted Living Communities, offering care and support. Volunteer Advocates, from varied backgrounds, undergo screening, training, and receive continuous supervision from the Volunteer Coordinator. Kim Verstegen, Assisted Living Project Coordinator at the Board on Aging and Long Term Care, will explain how you can join in and make a meaningful impact in this role.
