What is Girls Who Code?

Girls Who Code is a national, nonprofit organization founded with the mission of closing the gender gap in technology. Girls Who Code equips girls with computing skills, inspires interest in STEAM and builds confidence.

Who can join?
Girls in grades 4 – 9 can join. Call 236-5208 to register for this free series.
When does the group meet?
Tuesdays from 2 – 3:30 p.m., June 18 – Aug. 20.
Do I need coding experience?
You do not need coding experience. Girls at all levels of coding experience are encouraged to join. You do not need to bring anything.

What to practice your coding skills? Visit these online resources:
Gale Courses: free, online, instructor-led courses in computer applications and much more.
Scratch: a programming language used to create stories, games, and animations.
Blockly: teaches programming principles and introduces JavaScript using a block-based programming approach
Khan Academy: has courses in JavaScript, ProcessingJS, HTML & CSS, HTML & JavaScript and SQL.
