Exotic Pet Surrender Event

If you find yourself unable to care for your exotic pet, we're here to help! Join us at the Exotic Pet Surrender Event where various organizations, including J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue, Pet Advocacy Network, and University of Wisconsin Sea Grant/Water Resources Institutes, will be accepting fish, invertebrates, reptiles, pet birds, small mammals, and plants - no questions asked.
*Please note that domestic pets like dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and chickens will not be accepted. If you have domestic animals in need of rehoming, we recommend reaching out to local pet shelters or rescues.

Event Highlights
Meet Animal Ambassadors and learn about their unique stories!

  • Capture precious memories at the photobooth with our rescued pets!
  • Why Surrender? Releasing pets into the wild is harmful to both the animals and the environment. By participating in this event, you are ensuring a safe and responsible rehoming process for your exotic pets.
  • Adoption Information: All surrendered animals will be available for adoption after a brief quarantine period. Please bring your pet in a secure container.
  • Event Sponsors: A huge thank you to Festival Foods, Chemi-Pure, Jellyfish Art, and Reef Aquaria Design for their generous support!
  • For any questions regarding the Exotic Pet Surrender Event, feel free to contact John Moyles of J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue at adoptions@jraar.org.

Let's come together to make a positive impact on the lives of these incredible animals!
