Shauna Neitzel from Ambassador Travel in Oshkosh says people are looking for new adventures this year or trips to familiar destinations, but with additional opportunities for unique experiences.
What are travel trends for 2019?
Ecotourism, adventure travel, off the beaten path places in popular destinations – exploratory travel.
What are some emerging destinations?
I feel there has been a big jump in European travel based on requests to our agency. People are loving the idea of adventure and tours.
What remains popular?
All inclusives for sure. So many people love the idea of everything being included in their trip.
Where is your favorite place to go?
Based on my travels, my favorite destination is Jamaica. I love the culture, the locals are amazing and friendly/laid back, the food is incredible and the beaches are gorgeous. I have officially titled myself a “Jamarican.”
What’s the most economical time of year to travel?
This truly depends on where the trip is to – late summer/fall for Caribbean and Mexico (all inclusive) and winter for Europe.
