Those monthly subscription boxes that offer everything from tasty meals to stylish clothes have come to your local library – with a teen book lover’s twist.

Oshkosh teens in grades 6 - 12 can enjoy the experience of a three-month book box subscription from the Oshkosh Public Library without the cost.

Modeled after subscription boxes like Stitch Fix or Owl Crate, Teen Lit Loot includes up to five hand-selected library books, treats and goodies packaged in a convenient box. Each subscription cycle lasts for three months.

After reading the month’s selections, subscribers are asked to fill out a survey and return it with their library books. This feedback helps library staff to pick good books for that reader’s future boxes.

Library staff will select books based on your individual interests and preferences during the subscription period. Subscribers may pick up their Lit Loot box starting on the 15th of each month. Treats and goodies are yours to keep. Please remember to return the library books.

“We’ve found that personalized service, especially book recommendations, is incredibly popular,” says Assistant Director of Public Services Ruth Percey. “Teen Lit Loot is designed to offer teens an enjoyable reading experience that they can look forward to every month.”

Teen Lit Loot has a limited number of subscription spots available. Participants may pause or cancel the service anytime. The library hopes to add additional boxes based on patron demand.
