Happy New Year!

Thank you for your support!

Because of supporters like you, libraries can continue providing vital services. Thank you for bringing your young learners to story time, enjoying special events, making book club interesting and checking out more than 570,000 books, DVDs and other items; as well as more than 90,000 digital downloads in 2018.

The theme for the library’s January/February Events Calendar  is “Hit Refresh.” As the new year sweeps in, use the library’s resources and experts to reimagine life – whether it’s a new hobby, career or interest. Stop in and browse or get started here. If you want to start by refreshing your reading list, check out the library’s newest arrivals.

Reserve Sat., Jan. 26, from 10 – 1 p.m., for a visit to the Children’s Department. We’re revealing a brand-new feature, and hope you’ll be part of the action. Read more about Explorers Grove here.

In June, you’ll be able to explore Oshkosh’s Washington Avenue Historic District using a free smartphone app. Our local history and genealogy librarian has created an interactive walking tour offering the inside scoop on seven Washington Avenue buildings. It will draw you down this recently-revitalized corridor, where you can immerse yourself in the past and see what’s new. If you want to start exploring local history right now, start here.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the library’s renovation. For many of us, it’s hard to believe a quarter century has elapsed since the building was transformed to better serve the community’s needs. Look for special events to honor this important milestone.

Thanks again for making the Oshkosh Public Library a welcoming place for all people – no matter what age, stage or circumstance. We look forward to seeing you in 2019.
