Caring and Sharing 2019

Give the gift of reading
Share the joy of reading by donating a new, unwrapped book to a child (tot to teen) in need. Drop books off in the box located in the library’s First Floor Lobby. Books will be distributed by the Salvation Army.

The Mitten Tree
Have you read the children’s picture book The Mitten Tree by Candace Christensen? An elderly woman named Sarah watches from her window as children gather at the bus stop each morning. One day, she notices there's one little boy who never wears mittens. That night she knits a special pair and hangs them on a nearby tree for him to find.

Just like Sarah, you can help keep a child warm this winter. Donate new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for area kids. Bring items to the library's Lower Level and hang them on the Mitten Tree for distribution by the Salvation Army.

Donations accepted until Thurs., Dec. 12.
