Oshkosh Stories and Snapshots collage of photos

Enjoy these personal stories and reminiscences of life in Oshkosh by "ordinary people," who may be your neighbors, friends or even family members! Written in their own words, our writers share their childhood memories, recollections of ordinary life, and memories of famous or little-known Oshkosh events.

Visit the Stories often because we will continue to add new stories (and label them "new.") You can browse the stories by clicking 'Next story' after you finish one story or 'Return to Table of Contents' to select a specific story.

Although our first set of stories describes what it was like "in the old days," we also want recollections of more recent times so future generations will know what life was like in Oshkosh in the 21st Century.

We encourage you to share your own recollections, anecdotes and stories of life in the old days or recent times. We have a few simple guidelines for submission that we ask you to follow.

We will be adding photographs at a later time.
