It’s been called the Eighth Wonder of the World—your public library! Where else can you find fiction, biographies, poetry, and graphic novels? There are big-time adventures, sweeping love stories, tall tales, and spectacular suspense. Characters that are larger than life, family epics, and the giants of literature await readers. “War and Peace,” anyone? June 1 marks the start of this year’s Adult Summer Reading Program. But you can sign up any time up until the last week –the program ends September 3. Just sign up at the second floor Reference Desk to receive your packet of tickets. For each 20 minutes you read, check off a box on your ticket. After you check off seven boxes, you can drop off your ticket at the Reference Desk or submit your summer reading ticket online for entries into our weekly Friday drawings. Submit a Book Review to earn extra chances for the weekly drawings! Weekly winners will get to choose from an array of prizes available in the second floor display case. CDs, DVDs, gift certificates, tee shirts, and items from the Friends of the Library store are some of the prizes. And of course, books! We’ve got romances, mysteries, best sellers, nonfiction, cookbooks, and more! Loved the book you just read and want to tell the world? Just fill out one of the Reader Recommendation tickets from your packet. It will give you another chance at winning a prize and we may add your reviews to our web site. No time for a book? Magazines count as well, so do newspapers and books on tape and CD. Have you tried an e-book or a downloadable audio book? Check out our web site for details. Read to a child, or have a child read to you. There’s nothing small about this summer reading program. You don’t need to read an 800-page book to join the fun. Remember, find your Colossal Reads @ the Oshkosh Public Library. Remember to sign-up for the Adult Summer Reading Program by filling out and submitting the form below or pick up a reading packet at the 2nd floor Reference Desk. Need help finding a good book to read? Try the Readers' Connection page for staff picks, reader reviews, and online reader resources for help! Any questions?
