LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD REVIEWS THIS SUMMER!

Have you read a good book this summer & want to share it with other readers? Write a review for the Oshkosh Public Library’s Reader Recommendation page to receive extra entries in the summer reading weekly prize drawings. Weekly winners will get to choose from an array of prizes available in the second floor display case. CDs, DVDs, gift certificates, tee shirts, and items from the Friends of the Library store are some of the prizes. And of course, books! We’ve got romances, mysteries, best sellers, nonfiction, cookbooks, and more!  Only your first name will appear on the review. The guidelines are few and simple.

  • The review must be at least 50 words long
  • Rate the book from 1 star (poor) to 5 stars (excellent)
  • The book must be part of the Winnefox Library System collection
  • You can submit your review online or in written form—you can drop it off at the Reference Desk. We will contact you if you are a winner.

Need some hints about what to include in your review?

  • Be sure to have the author’s name and the title of the book.
  • What type of book is it? Mystery, biography, romance, history, etc.
  • Is the author new to you or an old favorite?
  • For nonfiction, give a brief overview of the subject.
  • For fiction, give a brief summary of the story. Be careful not to give away any surprises.
  • Was it similar to any other books you’ve read—either subject or style of the author?
  • What was your reaction? Was the book memorable, instructive, or entertaining?

Any questions? Contact the Reference Desk at (920) 236-5205.
