High Hopes Early Literacy Program [1]

We know that you have high hopes for your child. Becoming a good reader helps pave the way to a bright future and the library can help you get started. High Hopes storytime programs and parent workshops set your child on the road to reading from the time they’re born.
High Hopes Storytime
Wednesdays, Sept. 11-Nov. 27
Sessions at 9:30, 10:15 or 11 a.m.
Your baby, toddler, or preschooler will enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays and rhymes while you learn easy ways to practice important early literacy skills at home in playful, loving ways. Each storytime runs 15-20 minutes, followed by playtime where library materials will be available. Registration is required – call 236-5208 or register at the Children’s Department in the library’s lower level. Plan to attend all sessions to get the greatest benefit from this program.
High Hopes Parent & Caregiver Workshop
Saturday, May 25
Session from 1:30-3 p.m.
Learn habits to practice in your everyday life with your baby or toddler that will increase his chances of becoming a good reader. Knowing what is happening in your child’s brain and why early literacy practices work will inspire you to use them at home. Each workshop is different and can be attended independently, or attend all three for the entire series.
Registration requested (we need a head count for refreshments). To register for one or all three call 236-5208 or email youth@oshkoshpubliclibrary.org [2]
