Manless in Montclair: How a Happily Married Woman Became a Widow Looking for Love in the Wilds of Suburbia by Amy Holman Edelman Described as a "mature" chick lit title, Edelman's novel, partly based on her own life, tells Isabel's journey from wife to widow to 40-something woman with 2 children looking for a new husband. The happy marriage and death of her husband play a large part in the story and you do see Isabel and her children suffering. However, it's the breezy, funny challenges Isabel faces in her hunt for a man that make the story. Who among us would agree to be interviewed by a major New York City newspaper about our outlandish idea on how to find a husband! ~JD
