2015 Kids Summer Reading Program

May 26 - August 28
Summer fun in the Children's Department!

Read or be read to 20 minutes or more each day.  Each time you finish two weeks of reading you will earn a choice of food coupon and:

  4 weeks: Balloon Rocket Kit
  6 weeks: Free book
  8 weeks: Ticket to enter our Super Prize bonus drawings
10 weeks: Ticket to enter our Super Prize bonus drawings
12 weeks: Ticket to enter our Super Prize bonus drawings

Stop in to the library's lower level to register, or sign up online

A special Drop In and Read Day will be held on Tuesday, June 9 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Children can come to the library and read for 20 minutes to receive a day pass to the Pollock Community Water Park.  For any 20 minutes a child reads at the library, they will earn a BFF coupon (Be Fine FREE, limit one per person).

All children infant through middle school are welcome to join us for fun activities and reading adventures.  All activities are free.  Events are held in the lower level meeting rooms, unless otherwise noted.

For programs requiring tickets: Free tickets available the week prior to the event--Monday for the general public, Thursday for groups.  These performances are designed for ages 4 and up.  (Younger children will be admitted, but will be encouraged to take breaks and return as their attention spans indicate.)

  • Get on the bus.
  • Show your library card.
  • Route #2 stops in front of the library or get off at the Transit Center.
  • Be sure to get a ticket for a free ride home at the library's service desk.
