School District Public Meetings

Oshkosh residents can speak up about the budget cuts in the 2010-11 budget.  Some cuts will be school closings and teacher cuts.  Read the Preliminary list of 2010-2011 Budget Reconciliation Options

Recycling Fundraiser - Oshkosh West Science Club

Looking to get rid of some of the electronics cluttering your house?  The Oshkosh West Science Club is having a recycling fundraiser this Sat. Dec. 5th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the High School.  The Oshkosh West High School is located at 375 N. Eagle.

Bring the following items to recycle - free of charge:
Cell phones, laptop computers, MP3 players, digital cameras, inkjet cartridges, Netbooks, video cameras, handheld game systems, GPS devices, radar detectors, and electronic book readers.

Items with a charge:
Televisions ($10), Hard drives must be cleared or there is a $20 charge

School Superintendent Interviews

Oshkosh School Board has started final interviews of the three candidates for the superintendent position.  Each candidate will spend one day in Oshkosh this week.  A community reception will be held each day a candidate is here.  The reception will be held at Oshkosh East High School, 405 Washington Ave.  from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  The Board is expected to select a new superintendent on Thursday, Aug. 7.   

Final candidates are:

Lowell Holtz, who is currently the superintendent in the Beloit school district (Monday reception)

David Gundlach, who is currently the director of curriculum, instruction, assessments and technology for the Menasha Joint school district (Tuesday reception)

Richard Zimman, who is currently the superintendent of the Ripon school district (Wednesday reception)

Community Input on School Superintendent Search

The search firm hired to help the School District find a new superintendent, will be holding a forum on Wednesday, July 2.  Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd.  will give community members and parents an opportunity to say what leadership characteristics they feel are important for the next superintendent.  The forum will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the School District's central offices, 215 Eagle St.
