For kids who have already read Wildwood, are just reading it now, or hope to read it in the future, this session includes an examination of the book's quirky and appealing illustrations, as well as a woodsy art project.

Butterflies and Bugs

Butterflies and Bugs (Grades 3 and up)

Bugs rock! Some fly backwards, other light up and some even squirt stinky juice from their knees.  Find out cool facts about the insects that are all around us.  The most beautiful bugs in the world, the butterflies, will be featured.  The program concludes with a butterfly art project.  Fly on over to the library and find out what the buzz is all about.

Elephant Extravaganza

Fun Fact and Art with Mary Tooley - Elephant Extravaganza (Grades K-2)

How do you take care of a pet elephant?  That's the question answered by this exciting Art in a Suitcase program.  The care, feeding, grooming and special needs of elephants are all explained.  Excellent elephant stories and myths are emphasized.  Then the suitcase is opened to reveal an elaborate array of elephants.  Finally, the children draw and decorate Asian elephants.
