Local Author Spotlight : Steve Hazell

Join us for our ongoing series featuring area authors. Local author Steve Hazell presents his book titled "The Kindred Path."

Brought together by a shared love of music and reunited through political action, Bob Weitzel and Steve Hazell were in and out of each other's lives for 22 years. With music, anecdotes, and video, Hazell chronicles their remarkable friendship--up to Weitzel's final quest kayaking on Lake Superior. Hazell's entertaining and touching odyssey to find closure in the wake of his friend's death offers insight into the universal aspects of life.

Teri Rose will discuss her heartwarming memoir, Touched by Cancer, and talk about her experiences with chemotherapy and radiation. She will share her experiences of cancer, epilepsy, drug use and being told she may never have children. This strong young woman will discuss how all of these topics affect relationships with her family and her significant other. Q&A and refreshments following the program. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Join us for our ongoing series featuring area authors.  Joyce Frohn presents the good, the bad & the weird : writing for anthologies.  Lower level meeting room.

Anthologies are a great way for writers to get their short stories published but they can be intimidating for beginning writers.  Joyce will go through the good, the bad and the weird of getting published in anthologies: how to determine which ones are scams; how to deal with late publication; and the difference between repuiblication for anthologies and for magazines or online publications.
