Welcome!

We know that you have high hopes for your child.  Becoming a good reader almost guarantees a bright future.  We can help with that!

Please join our new storytime program offered to any pre-reading child along with a parent or caregiver.  Your child will enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, and rhymes while you learn how to teach your newborn, baby, toddler, or preschooler early literacy skills at home in playful, loving ways.

When is it?

Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 and 10:15 am.  Come to whichever time works for you that day.  Feel free to visit, but if you decide to join you will receive the most benefit and will reserve your spot by registering.  (Space will be limited.)  Each storytime lasts 15-20 minutes followed by playtime where special library materials will be available.  Register in person at the children’s reference desk or by calling 920-236-5208.

What are these skills?

Early literacy skills are a set of abilities that prepare a child to read.  Starting at birth, nearly all of these skills can be taught through the following activities:

TALKING   SINGING   READING   WRITING   PLAYING

We will show you how.  Come to High Hopes to learn more!
